False Marriage Claim and Lack of Criminal Liability
Ms. Sri Misu, residing as a married couple with Mr. Ho Chao Ing without registration, upon the birth of a child, Ms. Sri reported to the local registrar that a marriage of one person was already valid, having been born together. Following the birth of the child, Ms. Sri terminated her cohabitation with Mr. Ho and reported to another local registrar that the girl, Anusri Chao Ing, was the child of Ms. Sri, and Ms. Sri received a birth certificate. The actions of Mr. Ho do not constitute a violation. The statement made by Mr. Ho to the official was not a false statement, therefore Mr. Ho does not have culpability under Section 267 of the Penal Code.
